Ethan Horn's Testimony
How The Godly Dragon Came To Be

I was born on February 11, 1994 to a Jewish family. As a kid, I was always different. Because of my Judaism, I celebrated biblical Old Testament holidays as opposed to Christmas and Easter. But also at the age of 3 I was diagnosed with high functioning autism, which impaired my social skills and I also had to be put in special education since I learned differently from other kids. With it however came special gifts, such as the ability to write proficiently. And I learned to read when I was only three.

Among my favorite things as a kid were video games and animated films with anthropomorphic animals (such as Disney, Don Bluth, etc). Sonic 1 on Sega Genesis was my first video game. Then we got GameCube for Sonic Mega Collection and Mario games. Both franchises contained some animal stuff. When I hit adolescence, I became fascinated with dragons, which began with Christopher Paolini's Inheritance Cycle. And I have loved dragons ever since.

When I was 16 I discovered the furry fandom, a fandom of people that are all interested in anthropomorphic animals. With it came ups and downs. I made some friends, but during this time I also felt really depressed and got caught up in pornography with no remorse.

My first exposure to the Gospel was in 2012, when Christian friends online preached the Gospel to me. At this time however, I didn't feel ready. It felt like too much pressure. So I rejected it at the time.

I would keep resisting until I got a job at a Goodwill warehouse in 2014. At the same time, a Christian bookstore opened across the street. I found myself wandering in there time to time, and the owner and employees of the store witnessed to me with love and compassion. I got to see that there were loving Christians out there. Over time, I finally opened my eyes and saw there was something to Christianity. In July of 2014, I got down on my knees and accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and allowed him to change me from the inside out. Since then, my life was never the same. I started following Jesus and I went to church every Sunday and participated in church activities like Bible studies.

In January of 2016, inspiration struck me. I had the idea to create a unique Christian YouTube channel. And so, I created Godly Dragon Reviews and Apologetics, a Christian preaching and teaching channel with a dragon as a mascot. I wanted to use my skills and favorite things to preach the Gospel and change the world. It hit some rough roads and snags along the way due to disapproval from peers, but now it is the big ministry that it is today. In 2019, the ministry has been renamed to The Godly Dragon.

That's my testimony, and how The Godly Dragon came to be. God bless, everyone!
